I have finally entered the world of abstract expression. Quite a departure from my representational renderings of plant life. The medium is watercolor collage accented with colored pencils.
This is my favorite of the 3 abstracts. I love the way the shapes weave in and out and the gradation of the light from the top to the bottom. This paticular choice of colors is wonderful.
Being an artist teaches you to think about light, color, pattern, depth, contrast, and texture. This is what I love to paint.
My representational watercolors often feature strong compositions and tightly cropped views. My training as an engineer may explain my love of drawing and fascination with complex and highly detailed subjects.
I am a Signature Member of the American, National, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Baltimore Watercolor Societies, and an elected member of the Howard Pyle Studio Group and The Artists Circle.
