My latest watercolor is a painting of my father-in-law Charles Spurgeon, standing in the corn field on his Marysville, Ohio farm.

Siv Spurgeon: Being an artist teaches you to think about light, color, pattern, depth, contrast, and texture. This is what I love to paint. My representational watercolors often feature strong compositions and tightly cropped views. My training as an engineer may explain my love of drawing and fascination with complex and highly detailed subjects. I am a Signature Member of the American, National, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Baltimore Watercolor Societies, and an elected member of the Howard Pyle Studio Group and The Artists Circle.
